Preakness Trio to Line Up Again in G1 Travers at Saratoga

Everfast, Owendale, Laughing Fox Among Field of 12 Saturday

BALTIMORE – For the first time since they met in the 144th Preakness Stakes (G1) May 18 at Pimlico Race Course, three of the top five finishers in the Middle Jewel of the Triple Crown will line up again in Saturday’s $1.25 million Travers (G1) at Saratoga.

Calumet Farm’s Everfast, Rupp Racing’s Owendale and Alex and JoAnn Lieblong’s Laughing Fox are among the field of 12 set to assemble for the 150th Travers.

53 Winners Each Take Home $1,837 in Stronach 5

LAUREL, MD – There were 53 winning tickets in Friday’s Stronach 5 with each ticket worth $1,837.70.

Friday’s sequence began with two races at Laurel Park. Zitarrosa ($7.40) won the opening leg of the Stronach 5 and Mice and Men ($12.60) the second leg. After heavy favorite Slingin Sammy B ($3.40) won the third leg from Gulfstream, 11-1 shot Bandito ($25.40) lit up the board at Laurel in the fourth leg. The final leg, a scratch-filled affair from Gulfstream taken off the turf, was won by 1-5 favorite Vinnie Van Go.

After Pictura ($14) beat favored Sheza Handfull in Laurel’s ninth, the action shifted to South Florida and Gulfstream Park, where Sand Drift ($11.20) won the 10th race and final leg of the sequence.
