BALTIMORE – Trevor McCarthy continued his dominance of the jockey standings, and in the process helped trainer Jamie Ness to his first Maryland meet title in four years as the Preakness Meet at Pimlico closed with a special Memorial Day holiday program Monday.

BALTIMORE – There will be mandatory payouts in the 20-cent Rainbow 6, 50-cent Late Pick 5 and $1 Super Hi-5 for Monday’s special Memorial Day holiday program that marks the close of the 12-day Preakness Meet at Pimlico Race Course.

Post time for the first of nine races is 1:10 p.m.

BALTIMORE – For the ninth consecutive racing day, the 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved Saturday at Pimlico Race Course to grow the carryover jackpot to $251,028.48 for Sunday’s eight-race program.

First race post time is 1:10 p.m.

Stronach 5 Rewards 26 Bettors with $5,094 Each

LAUREL, MD –Friday’s Stronach 5, highlighted by three turf races and four different tracks, had 26 winners, each receiving $5,094.70.

Friday’s sequence began at Gulfstream Park in Florida with Allurstra winning the eighth race and returning $29.40, and ending in California with the gray Confidentially winning the sixth race at Santa Anita Park and paying $11.40.

The national wager has an industry-low 12-percent takeout and a guaranteed pool of $100,000.

Alwaysmining ‘Really Well’ Following G1 Preakness

Multiple Stakes Winner May Shorten Up Upon Return

BALTIMORE – Runnymede Racing’s multiple stakes winner Alwaysmining, who had his six-race win streak snapped in the 144th Preakness (G1) May 18, emerged from the race in good order and returned to the track this week, trainer Kelly Rubley said.

Alwaysmining had his first gallop Thursday at Fair Hill Training Center in Elkton, Md., five days after finishing 11th in the 1 3/16-mile Preakness, where he went off as the fourth choice of 13 sophomores at odds of 6-1.

BALTIMORE – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 saw its carryover jackpot swell to $217,321.44 after going unsolved for the sixth consecutive racing day Thursday at Pimlico Race Course.

First race post time for Friday’s nine-race card is 1:10 p.m.

A total of $59,264 was bet into the popular multi-race wager Thursday on top of a carryover of $198,373.42 from the Preakness Stakes (G1) program May 18. Tickets with five of six winners were worth $835.94.
