Five Stakes Worth $330,000 Set for June 25 at Pimlico

BALTIMORE - The final weekend of the 28-day Preakness Meet at Pimlico will offer five stakes worth $330,000 on Saturday, June 25 for both Maryland-bred and Virginia-bred/sired horses.
 
The $75,000 All Brandy Stakes for fillies and mares 3 and up and the $75,000 Find Stakes for 3-year-olds and up are restricted to Maryland-breds and will be run at 1 1/8 miles on the turf course.
 

G3 Winner Divining Rod Nearing Return to Races

BALTIMORE - Lael Stables’ Grade 3 winner Divining Rod, third behind 2015 Triple Crown champion American Pharoah in the 140th Preakness Stakes (G1), is getting closer to his first race in nearly a year.
 
The 4-year-old Tapit colt, unraced since a fifth-place finish in the Smarty Jones (G3) last August at Parx, breezed three furlongs Wednesday at the Fair Hill Training Center in “something like 39 seconds,” trainer Arnaud Delacour said.
 

Nyquist Returns to Track with Thursday Jog

BALTIMORE – Previously undefeated Kentucky Derby (G1) and Florida Derby (G1) winner Nyquist returned to the track Thursday morning for the first time since his third-place finish in the 141st Preakness Stakes (G1) May 21.
 
Accompanied on the pony by California-based trainer Doug O’Neill’s assistant, Jack Sisterson, Nyquist jogged one lap around the main track at historic Pimlico Race Course.
