BALTIMORE – Having bucked history while winning the May 5 Kentucky Derby (G1) in only his fourth start and without the benefit of racing as a 2-year-old, the lightly raced Justify could well hold an advantage heading into the 143rd Preakness Stakes (G1) May 19 at Pimlico Race Course.  
 

Jockey Edgar Prado Named Preakness Honorary Postmaster

BALTIMORE – Hall of Fame jockey Edgar Prado, who has won 24 riding titles in Maryland and rode 2006 Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro, has been named the Honorary Postmaster for Preakness 143.
 
Prado, who is two wins away from becoming only the eighth jockey with 7,000 wins, will be recognized Thursday, May 17 at the Alibi Breakfast at Pimlico Race Course.

BALTIMORE – Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Justify, the strong favorite for the 143rd running of the May 19 Preakness Stakes (G1), had a second day of routine galloping Friday at Churchill Downs as he prepares for the 1 3/16-mile Middle Jewel of the Triple Crown.
