MJC Resuming LARC Simulcasts Starting Sunday, May 3

Live Racing from Brazil Offered Sundays & Mondays in May
 
BALTIMORE – For the first time since the state’s live racing was paused in mid-March, the Maryland Jockey Club will begin offering Latin America Racing Channel simulcasting beginning Sunday, May 3.
 
Full card LARC simulcasts from Hipodromo da Gavea in Brazil are scheduled from 12:30 to 8 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays in May, starting May 3 and 4 and continuing May 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25 and 31.

Friday Stronach 5 has 55 Winners

Each Winning Ticket Worth $2,929   
 
BALTIMORE – There were 55 winning tickets in Friday’s Stronach 5, each worth $2,929.80.
 
The sequence began with Reflect ($5.60) winning Laurel’s seventh race and ended with Yolanda’s Pride ($14.80) winning the 10th race at Gulfstream Park. Yolanda’s Pride also provided the biggest price of the sequence.

LAUREL, MD – The Stronach 5, which had six winning tickets last week each worth $31,273, returns Friday with a $100,000 guaranteed pool and industry-low 12-percent takeout.
 
The Stronach 5 will feature races from Laurel Park, Gulfstream Park and Golden Gate Fields.
 

Statement from The Stronach Group on Federal Horse Racing Indictments

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The Stronach Group, operators of Gulfstream Park West and Palm Meadows Training Center, complied fully with the search warrants that were executed by federal authorities this morning. The warrants issued were specific only to the barns and stalls that were occupied by the individuals charged today.
 
The Stronach Group is not included in the charges.
 

Six Bettors Win $31,273 Each in Friday Stronach 5

BALTIMORE – There were six winning tickets in Friday’s Stronach 5, each returning $31,273.30.

Rough Sea ($51.80) opened Friday’s sequence with a 24-1 upset in Laurel Park’s eighth race, before Fender Baby ($12.20) captured Laurel’s ninth-race finale in the second leg. King Parker ($8.40) took Santa Anita’s second race, followed by My Friend Tony ($6.40) in the third at Golden Gate Fields and Miss Auramet ($5.40) in the ninth at Gulfstream Park.
