Ultimate Girls Day Out to Feature Hooves & Heels Fashion Event
One of Many Events Celebrating Women on Black-Eyed Susan Day Friday, May 15
BALTIMORE, MD., 04/23/15 --- Black-Eyed Susan Day's Ultimate Girls Day Out, an entire day at Pimlico Race Course dedicated to the spirit and strength of women, will play host to Hooves & Heels, a fashion event for every woman attending the day's races and festivities on Friday, May 15.
There will also be a separate fashion show for every horse who runs that afternoon.
The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (https://thoroughbredaftercare.org), caring for Thoroughbreds following the conclusion of their racing careers, joins Susan G. Komen Maryland, a major partner in the day’s charitable endeavors since 2010, as this year’s event beneficiaries.
Between 12-3 p.m. on Black-Eyed Susan Day, Lana Rae, CEO of Kis Agency & Promotions and founder and producer of the Fashion Awards MD, will scour Pimlico looking for women in their best Black-Eyed Susan Day fashions. Rae will choose 10 finalists to compete in the Hooves & Heels Fashion Event finale at 3:15 p.m. in the Girls Galleria tent located in the infield.
Prizes will include tickets to the Turfside Terrace on Black-Eyed Susan Day 2016, tickets to the Fashion Awards MD 2015, and prizes from Hooves & Heels event sponsors.
There will also be a separate selection for the best turned out horse in each race in the afternoon's 14-race program, so grooms should give extra special attention to their horses. The groom of the winning horse of each race will receive $100 check from StarLadies (https://starlightracing.com/overview-starladies.aspx) and a gift bag courtesy of Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
Gates open at 9:30 a.m. For more information go to https://www.blackeyedsusanday.com/ and https://www.facebook.com/BlackEyedSusanDay.
