Four of Five Winners Return $8 or Less
BALTIMORE –Even with the Stronach 5 having two winners paying $4 and another two returning $8 or under, the popular wager Friday returned $1,922.20 to each of the 40 winning tickets.
The biggest price on the cross-country wager with a low 12-percent takeout was $14.20.
Friday’s sequence started with even-money favorite Slippin Jimmy ($4) winning Laurel’s eighth race. The victory was the second of the afternoon for trainer Sarah Nagle. Gulfstream’s sixth race, taken off the turf, served as the second leg and was won by another even-money favorite in Drop a Hint ($4) under jockey Edwin Gonzalez. Morning-line favorite Awsum Roar was scratched. Laurel’s ninth race, a seven-furlong event on the main track, served as the third leg of the sequence and was won by the 6-1 shot Abuelo Paps ($14.20).
Gulfstream’s seventh race served as the fourth leg and provided jockey Cristian Torres with his second winner of the afternoon in Samaronti ($8). The Stronach 5 wrapped up with Golden Gate’s second race and 5-2 shot Lady Doc ($7.40) driving away from pacesetter Predetermination down the stretch.

The minimum wager on the multi-race, multi-track Stronach 5 is $1. If there are no tickets with five winners, the entire pool will be carried over to the next Friday.
If a change in racing surface is made after the wagering closes, each selection on any ticket will be considered a winning selection. If a betting interest is scratched, that selection will be substituted with the favorite in the win pool when wagering closes.
