Proceeds Benefit Susan G. Komen and Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance
BALTIMORE – On Sunday, Oct. 9, historic Pimlico Race Course will once again serve as host to Canter for the Cause to benefit Susan G. Komen Maryland and the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
The annual event was originally scheduled in May but was postponed due to an equine herpesvirus breakout in the Mid-Atlantic.
Participants will have the opportunity to walk, jog, canter or trot their horses around the same Pimlico main track that has hosted such champions as Hall of Famers Seabiscuit, Secretariat, American Pharoah and War Admiral.
Canter for the Cause runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a cost of $50 per trip in any of Group I (walk, trot, canter and gallop), Group II (walk, trot and slow canter) and Group III (walk and trot) categories. Participants choose their pace at the time of registration.
