LAUREL, MD – It’s all about the turf come Friday’s Stronach 5, with four of the five races on the turf along with a $100,000 guaranteed pool.

The national pick 5, with an industry-low 12-percent takeout, kicks off at approximately 5:20 p.m. with 13 horses going a mile on Laurel Park’s world-class turf course. The action moves to Golden Gate Fields for a 1 1/16 mile turf event before the only dirt race in the sequence is contested at a mile over the main track at Gulfstream.

After a five furlong turf race at Santa Anita Park for 3-year-olds and up, this week’s Stronach 5 sequence concludes with 11 horses going 7 ½ furlongs on the turf at Gulfstream.

Friday’s Stronach 5 sequence

●    Leg One – Laurel Park 9th Race – (13 entries, mile turf) 5:20 ET, 2:20 PT
●    Leg Two – Golden Gate 5th Race – (12 entries, 1 1/16th mile turf) 5:54 ET, 2:54 PT
●    Leg Three –Gulfstream Park 8th Race– (8 entries, one mile) 6:02 ET, 3:02 PT
●    Leg Four –Santa Anita 5th Race – (9 entries, 5 furlongs turf) 6:12 ET, 3:12 PT
●    Leg Five –Gulfstream 9th Race– (11 entries, 7 1/2 furlongs turf) 6:34 ET, 3:34 PT

The minimum wager on the multi-race, multi-track Stronach 5 is $1. If there are no tickets with five winners, the entire pool will be carried over to the next Friday.

For the Stronach 5, if a change in racing surface is made after the wagering closes, each selection on any ticket will be considered a winning selection. If a betting interest is scratched, that selection will be substituted with the favorite in the win pool when wagering closes.
