BALTIMORE - Fasig-Tipton, North America’s oldest Thoroughbred auction house, has reached an agreement with Pimlico Race Course as title-sponsor of the Stakes Barn Winners Party on Preakness Day.
The Fasig-Tipton Stakes Barn Winners’ Party will be held immediately after the races on Preakness Saturday in the stakes barn. Fasig-Tipton will also be onsite in the stakes barn hospitality tent throughout Preakness week to promote its upcoming Midlantic Two-Year-Olds Training Sale, which will be held at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in nearby Timonium, Maryland. The sale will be conducted this Monday and Tuesday, May 21-22.
“Fasig-Tipton has a long association with Maryland, having conducted auctions in the state for much of the company’s 120 year history,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “It is only natural that we have a presence at Maryland’s most important race – the Preakness – in conjunction with our upcoming Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale.”
Sal Sinatra, President and General Manager of the Maryland Jockey Club, said: “The Maryland Jockey Club, The Stronach Group and Fasig-Tipton have a long history of working together and this is another opportunity to build on our strong partnership. I believe they will elevate this year’s Winner’s Party and make it an extraordinary event.”
