MJC Team to Participate in Real Rider Cup Fair Hill

BALTIMORE – The Maryland Jockey Club will be represented at Real Rider Cup Fair Hill Friday, Sept. 16.

The Fair Hill leg of the 2022 Real Rider Cup continues the tradition of the charity show jumping event which directly supports Fair Hill Thoroughbred Show, New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program, and the Retired Racehorse Project.

BALTIMORE - Two days after Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96 following a 70-year reign, a horse she bred in England won Saturday’s second race at historic Pimlico Race Course.

West Newton, a 6-year-old gelding ridden by Forest Boyce for trainer Richard Hendriks, rallied from sixth to win by a half-length while covering a firm 1 1/8-mile turf course in 1:52.12.

BALTIMORE – Pre-registrations are being accepted for the Maryland Jockey Club’s College Day at the Races to be held Sunday, Sept. 18 at historic Pimlico Race Course.

Students are encouraged to sign up for the unique opportunity to experience a day of live racing, music, food, and a chance to win $10,000 in scholarship money.

A total of 10 prizes will be awarded of $1,000 each throughout the day. The event will run from noon to 6 p.m.
