97th Edition of Prestigious 1 1/8-Mile Race for 3-Year-Old Fillies

BALTIMORE – Three Diamonds Farm’s Army Wife was able to extricate herself from tight quarters leaving the backstretch, tipped outside to challenge long shot pacesetter Lady Traveler midway around the turn and opened up on the field once straightened for home to earn her first career stakes win in Friday’s $250,000 Black-Eyed Susan (G2) at Pimlico Race Course.

Three Big Winners in Stronach 5

BALTIMORE – There were three winning tickets in Friday’s Stronach 5 with each ticket worth $40,140.70.

The Stronach 5 featured two graded-stakes races from Pimlico Race Course and races from Santa Anita Park, Gulfstream Park and Golden Gate Fields along with an industry-low 12-percent takeout.

The Stronach 5 kicked off with the Pimlico Special (G3), a 1 3/16-mile event with five graded-stakes winners in the field of 11. It was Last Judgment who began the Stronach 5 by winning and returning $11.80.
